The Road Transport Department (RTD) adds on improvements to the security and user-friendly features of the MyJPJ application and the JPJ public portal which can be accessed gradually from today (Feb 15),on the respective phone operating systems (Android, IOS and Huawei).
Its director-general Datuk Zailani Hashim said among the improvements include introducing a third-level security level using the last eight characters on the back of the driver’s license for online JPJeID registration. He said, this is an addition to the existing two levels of security which are password and TAC code.
“The added functions to retrieve a user’s account through the last eight characters of the driver’s license, is now in place. This should resolve the registration issues faced due to users previously having an account on the JPJ portal run by its strategic partner which integrates with the JPJ system,” he said in a statement today.
JPJ also added an ’email reset’ function for users who have forgotten to use their relevant email account recently or need to update their email information online using the additional eight driving license characters.
According to the statement, the improvements were implemented after receiving various responses from the public regarding the use of the MyJPJ application and the JPJ public portal, following the introduction of the Digital Motor Vehicle License (e-LKM) and the Digital Malaysian Driving License (e-LMM).
The statement informed that the Ministry of Transport always works with the Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) to ensure that the cyber security aspect of the MyJPJ application is guaranteed.
