120,000 Apply For Rumah Selangorku Affordable Home Project

With affordable housing being a top priority by the Selangor state government, it was no surprise when the Selangor Property Housing Authority recorded almost 120,000 waiting lists to own Rumah Selangorku.

Housing Exco Rodziah Ismail said the number was more than double the State Government’s target which plans to build 60,000 affordable housing units by 2025. “We aim if by 2025 we can provide half to those who really deserve this, that will be enough. “In the 120,000 individuals who are waiting for this, some of them are able to buy a house at an affordable price. So we will look into the application for Rumah SelangorKu,” she said.

Accordingly, the project is a preferred choice for most buyers as the property is priced within the people’s affordability range and comes with various facilities. “This type of house is complete with partial furniture, including air conditioning, kitchen cabinets, televisions, and refrigerators. “During these two years, we expect 42,000 Dream houses to be completed. So I urge developers to make sure no project is abandoned or unfinished,” she said.

In February, Dato’ Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari announced that 65,000 units of Rumah SelangorKu in the Idaman and Hope category had been approved since 2018. Out of that number, 24,000 units are in the planning permission process, 6,500 are still being built while 2,400 are completed in Kajang and Bangi.
