LIMA 2023 To Showcase Advanced Naval, Aerospace Defense Tech From Italy

The Italian Embassy, in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency and the office of the Defence Attaché, has coordinated Italy’s presence at the 2023 Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA ’23).

The Italian Navy will be showcasing its advanced military vessel, the ITS “FRANCESCO MOROSINI,” which was christened only a few months ago. This 6,400-tonne, 143-metre-long ship is the second of a class of seven vessels and will be docked at the Port of Langkawi on 24 May, 2023.

The Italian Ambassador to Malaysia Massimo Rustico said, “As we continue to strengthen the long-standing relationship between Italy and Malaysia, our participation to LIMA 2023 demonstrates Italy’s unwavering commitment to deepening cooperation in the strategic fields of defence, security, and law enforcement. We look forward to exploring new avenues of collaboration at this important event and showcase Italy’s advanced expertise and capabilities as a player at global level.”

The Italian industry will showcase a range of defense advanced technologies including from naval, and aerospace industries. The ITALIA pavilion will showcase leading Italian companies such as Teknel, Sigma Consulting Srl, Elettronica Group, and Electron Source Co.

These renowned companies specialise in providing high-quality products and services in the Aerospace and Maritime Defense domains including through strategic industrial partnerships. They prioritise knowledge and expertise sharing to deliver innovative solutions that cater to industry requirements and drive industry growth.

Moreover, Italy will be among the leading nations at LIMA’23 with the presence of truly global players in the naval military and civilian industry such as Fincantieri and in the aviation, defense, space, electronics and cyber domains such as Leonardo. Fincantieri, one of the world’s largest shipbuilding groups with shipyards all over the world will display a large pavilion, while Leonardo, among the top 8 global defence players, will display a Chalet with some of the most advanced technologies.

The ITALIA Pavilion will provide visitors with a unique opportunity to explore cutting-edge products and services developed by the Italian defence industry. Visitors will experience first-hand the functionality, performance, and quality of Italian-made products through interactive displays, demonstrations, and simulations.

The Italian Pavilion will be located at Hall B, Booth No. B19b at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre in Langkawi.
