Tourism Malaysia Hosts International Photography, Video Contest With Lucrative Prizes

In conjunction with the Malaysia International Dive Exhibition (MIDE), Tourism Malaysia is pleased to invite all photography and videography enthusiasts around the world to join its contests and stand a chance to win diving packages in Malaysia worth RM50,000.

This international diving photography and three-minute video contests are now open for submission until 25 August 2023. Participation is based on an individual basis, with a maximum of three entries allowed for each category.

Submitted recent photos or short videos must be original (2019 onwards) and shot or recorded at a diving location in Malaysian waters featuring only the country’s stunning marine life and coral reefs using action cameras or DSLR.

Tourism Malaysia Director-General Dato Dr Ammar Abdul Ghapar said, “From muck diving to wreck diving, Malaysia’s tropical islands offer rewarding world-class diving experiences with popular sites attracting both seasoned and budding divers and marine life aficionados.”

“Our Sipadan Island in Sabah, for example, is often listed as one of the top diving destinations globally and has many dive points to venture into, with some of the notable marine protected areas, including Barracuda Point,” he added.

Barracuda Point is well-known for its large school of barracuda, forming what has been dubbed the “barracuda tornado” – the spectacular sight for underwater photography amid clear blue waters.
