Dewan Rakyat Passes Budget 2024 At Policy Stage

KUALA LUMPUR: The Dewan Rakyat today (Nov 2) passed the 2024 Supply Bill (2024 Budget) at the policy stage with a majority voice vote.

The voice vote was called for by Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim completed his winding-up speech on the bill, before the formed announced that the bill has been passed.

Now, Budget 2024 will proceed to its second reading at the committee level before being presented in Dewan Negara.

The second Madani budget, Budget 2024 was tabled on Oct 13 by Anwar, who is also the finance minister.

It was the highest budget tabled by the government involving an allocation of RM393.8 billion.
