KPDN To Lead Mission To Promote Malaysian Franchises In Vietnam

Ministry of Domestic Trade and Costs of Living (KPDN) will be leading a franchise trade mission to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam in conjunction with the 14th Vietnam International Exhibition Retailtech & Franchise Show 2023 (VIETRF 2023) that will held from Nov 2 to 4.

The trade mission is a franchise expansion programme under the Enhanced Franchise Development Programme (EFDP) and it is the fifth mission this year after Melbourne, Bangkok, Jakarta and Turkey.

The ministry said the exhibition is expecting a total of 360 local and international brands from around the world and more than 14,000 visitors.

“KPDN senior director Mohammad Sanusi Abdul Karim will lead the delegation, along with the Malaysian Consul-General in Ho Chi Minh Firdauz Othman and Malaysian Franchise Association (MFA) vice chairman Mohamad Shukri Salleh.

“Besides representatives from the ministry, the delegation will also include MFA and nine local franchise company such as Marrybrown, US Pizza, Q-Dees, Home Math Therapy, Smart Reader Kids, Laundrybar, MEIKO, Midyson and Sangkaya,” the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry said it will promote more unique local franchises to be marketed internationally.

“On the global stage, local franchise has evolved to be brands that are well-known globally, with more than 70 brands in 80 countries. VIETRF 2023 is the best platform for local franchise entrepreneurs to expand their business to strategic markets in Asean region.

“The ministry is optimistic that the companies who joined the delegation to Ho Chi Minh will to secure investments for the benefit of the country. This is in line with potential investment target of RM40 million for 12 companies participating in the mission,” it said.

During the mission, Sanusi will also chaired a business meeting with Malaysia Business Chamber Vietnam (MBC) to discuss and solve various issues related to franchise businesses there.

Besides that, the Malaysian delegation will also participate in a few working programmes including the meeting with General-Consul in Ho Chi Minh, Investment and Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC) Vietnam and a visit to the Malaysian local franchise in Vietnam, Global Art.
