Construction outfit, Kerjaya Prospek Group Berhad (Kerjaya), via its wholly subsidiary Kerjaya Prospek (M) Sdn Bhd, received RM104.7 million contract from Persada Menteri Sdn Bhd to undertake a proposed Pulau Andaman development project in Penang today (Nov 6).

In a recent Bursa listing, the group said it accepted the letter of award from an indirect subsidiary company of Eastern & Oriental Berhad, which involves the construction and completion of 69 units of 3-storey semi-detached and terrace houses.

The project will start from Dec 1, and will be completed within 26 months.

Kerjaya chief executive officer and executive director Tee Eng Tiong said upon securing this new project, the group’s year-to-date contract replenishment reaches RM1.6 billion, bringing the total outstanding order book to a remarkable RM4.8 billion.

“Although we have exceeded our targeted wins of RM1.2 billion for 2023, we will nevertheless persevere to seek more projects to enhance the order book further, keeping it sustainable for the next coming years,” he said.

Tee said the group is humbled for the inflow of contracts, particularly from companies which it have cooperated with before.

“This is a huge testament of the top-notch work quality and services which we strive to provide to all our clients.

“Leveraging on our extensive track record and expertise of over 3 decades, we are cautiously optimistic that the group is in a good position to capitalise on the opportunities present on the back of the construction sector’s growth, going forward.

“This is as we continue to reinforce and solidify our position as one of the leading construction players in Malaysia,” he added.
