Property developer Nexgram Holdings Bhd appointed Chin Wei Cheng as the new independent and non-executive director, effective today (Dec 12).
In a Bursa filing today, Chin, 37, is also appointed as the new Audit Committee chairman and as member of Nomination Committee, which also took effect today.
He has over 14 years of vast working experience and exposures in corporate and personal tax matters, and owned a tax firm, Finamic Taxation Services Sdn Bhd.
“Chin obtained his Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) Accounting from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman and is a member of Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM) and is also a Licensed Tax Agent since 2020.
“He started his career development in 2010 with Cheng & Co Taxation Sdn Bhd. Then, he left and joined Crowe Horwath KL Tax Sdn Bhd in 2014 as tax senior associate.
“Subsequently, in 2016, he joined Taxone Taxation Sdn Bhd as tax manager. After accumulated extensive working experience in the tax field, he left Taxone Taxation Sdn Bhd and started his owned tax firm named Finamic Taxation Services Sdn Bhd in 2021,” it said.
It was reported today that Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) recently filed a suit against five individuals for allegedly perpetrating a scheme to defraud and causing wrongful losses, involving Nexgram and three other companies.
The other companies involved are R&A Telecommunication Group Bhd, Asdion Bhd and Ire-Tex Corp Bhd.
The SC had said the five individuals are Tey Por Yee, Lim Chye Guan, See Poh Yee, Francis Tan Hock Leong and Faizatul Ikmi Abdul Razak.
The claim is valued at RM120.6 million to the said public-listed companies.
