DBKL To Revoke Business Licenses Violating Regulations On Foreign Tenants

The Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) is set to cancel or temporarily suspend business licenses on Jalan Silang here, found to be in violation of business regulations by leasing their premises to foreign residents.

Dr. Zaliha Mustafa, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories), emphasized that licenses issued to owners should be utilized responsibly and not granted to foreign individuals for business purposes.

“I am currently gathering more information on this… It is also one of DBKL’s main focuses in curbing the influx of foreign traders dominating prime business locations in the capital,” said Dr. Zaliha, reported Bernama.

She mentioned that they are awaiting comprehensive information from the Royal Malaysia Police’s General Operations Force (PGA PDRM), which conducted an integrated operation on Jalan Silang yesterday.

The operation resulted in the detention of 1,101 undocumented foreigners following raids on 60 premises around Jalan Silang, aiming to combat crime in the area.
