GITA Asset Now Under MGTC Purview

MIDA has announced that the Green Technology Tax incentive programme for own consumption effective from 1st January 2024 to 31st December 2026, will be merged with the GITA Asset and will fall under the purview of the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporatio.

Hence, the agency has asked for all new applications for GITA Asset for own consumption to be submitted to MGTC within the stipulated timeframe.

Meanwhile, it said the application period for the Green Investment Tax Allowance Project for business purposes and Green Income Tax Exemption (GITE) for Solar Leasing incentives has been extended until 31st December 2026. 

The Green Technology Tax Incentive was introduced in 2014. The programme aims to provide the industry with an option of two available incentives. Companies seeking to acquire qualifying green technology assets listed under the MyHIJAU Directory or those undertaking qualifying green technology projects for business or own consumption may apply to the Green Investment Tax Allowance (GITA). The Green Income Tax Exemption (GITE) is available for qualifying green technology service provider companies listed under the MyHIJAU Directory.
