Cuura Space, Kar Wai Chan Organise Artful Fusion At SWOL Cafe, Bangsar

Cuura Space, Malaysia’s premier online furniture retailer, has joined forces with renowned Malaysian artist Kar Wai Chan to present an extraordinary art installation, Creating Shared Connections. This collaborative exhibition, held at SWOL Cafe in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, marks a departure from traditional furniture presentations by combining Nordic-inspired designs, the romantic ambiance of Valentine’s Day, and the artistic brilliance of Kar Wai’s latest series, Cupid Rhapsody: Way Back To Love.

Cuura Space, recognised for its exclusive online approach to Nordic-inspired furniture, seeks to redefine the conventional showcasing of furniture. The exhibition challenges norms with an innovative display—an entire bedroom set suspended on the wall, adorned with doodles and paintings by Kar Wai.

Cuura Space Founder and CEO, Benny Lim shared, “We’re looking to change the way people view furniture, literally and metaphorically. By displaying these pieces alongside Kar Wai’s artwork, we’re aiming to showcase these opportunities for connection — something relevant during February since Valentine’s Day is this month.”

Kar Wai, a self-taught Malaysian artist, has gained recognition for her vivid tapestries capturing life’s diverse moments. Her latest art series, Cupid Rhapsody, explores the various forms of love, aligning perfectly with the February ambience.

“There is no one shape of love — platonic, romantic, healthy, and unhealthy — it comes in all shapes and forms. The Cupid series examines the many forms love can take, and how it can exist between people, or even for memories and events,” shared Kar Wai.

The exhibition offers visitors an immersive experience, blurring the lines between art and furniture. Set against the backdrop of cheerful cherubs and cheeky cupids, the event celebrates shared moments and the intimacy of spending quality time with loved ones.

For the entire month of February, visitors can enjoy a unique purchase offer and share their experience on social media for additional perks. The collaboration aims to connect the audience with the brand, creatively showcasing furniture’s aesthetic appeal and quality.

Cuura Space, with its commitment to providing a seamless online shopping experience, continues to revolutionize furniture shopping, emphasizing not just functionality but also the artistry within each piece.

Visit the SWOL Cafe exhibition throughout February for an unforgettable fusion of art and furniture, as Cuura Space and Kar Wai Chan redefine the boundaries of creativity in the world of interior design.
