Piaget Celebrates 150 Years Anniversary With ‘The House Of Gold’ Exhibition At Art Dubai

Luxury watch and jewelry brand Piaget announces its grand celebration of its 150th anniversary with ‘The House of Gold’ exhibition at Art Dubai. This prestigious event marks a return to the roots of Piaget’s style, embracing the timeless allure of goldwork while collaborating with regional artists and designers to infuse contemporary flair into their iconic pieces.

Art Dubai, renowned as a pinnacle event in the international contemporary art scene, holds a special place in Piaget’s heart, with ties to the region dating back to the 1960s. Piaget CEO, Benjamin Comar, emphasised the significance of participating in the 17th edition of Art Dubai, especially during the brand’s sesquicentennial celebration.

At the heart of ‘The House of Gold’ exhibition lies a celebration of gold as the noblest of materials. Meticulously crafted by the skilled artisans at Piaget’s workshops in Geneva, gold takes on new life in a blend of High Watchmaking and High Jewelry. The exhibition serves as a dialogue between Piaget’s rich heritage and vibrant present, showcasing long-standing icons alongside contemporary reinterpretations.

Art Dubai, Executive Director, Benedetta Ghione, welcomed Piaget as the high jewelry and watch partner, highlighting the brand’s alignment with the vision for artistry and excellence. The exhibition features an array of exquisite creations, from Swinging Sautoir necklaces to Limelight Gala watches, each embodying Piaget’s couture charm and mastery of craftsmanship.

A highlight of the exhibition is the unveiling of the Piaget Polo 79, a legendary timepiece sculpted entirely from the most precious of metals. This masterpiece, both a fine bracelet and a watch, epitomizes Piaget’s commitment to artistry and innovation. The presentation sets the stage for the brand’s upcoming 150th anniversary celebrations and the highly anticipated ‘Watches and Wonders’ event in April.

Throughout its 150-year legacy, Piaget has collaborated with a myriad of artists and celebrities, earning its place as a key player in the world of luxury. At Art Dubai, Piaget continues this tradition with two creative collaborations. Designer Shamsa Alabbar reinvents the Limelight Gala watch with hypnotic typography and Arabic graphic design, while artist Razan Alazzouni adds her unique touch to another version of the Limelight Gala, infusing it with marquetry of ornamental stones.

These collaborations symbolise the harmonious fusion of different cultures and times, breathing new life into Piaget’s history of Extralegenza. As Piaget embarks on its next chapter, ‘The House of Gold’ exhibition at Art Dubai stands as a testament to the brand’s enduring legacy of elegance, innovation, and extravagance.
