Malaysia Placed 4th In Southeast Asia’s Salary Rankings, Singapore Leads

Malaysia ranks fourth with average salary scale of USD1,414 with the highest being Singapore at USD6,332 among the 11 countries in Southeast Asia, said Time Doctor, a SaaS employee monitoring tool launched by the owners of Staff.com.

Time Doctor said with continued economic growth and investment flowing into the region, several Southeast Asian countries offer high salaries to their citizens.

Malaysia is another country in Southeast Asia that has competitive salaries. Malaysia offers attractive job opportunities in various sectors for its residents, thereby increasing overall income levels. The average salary in Malaysia is RM6,698.12 or USD1,414. which is lower than Singapore, Thailand and Brunei.

The average salary in Singapore is much higher than the global average, which is USD6,332 (RM30,231.53).

Time Doctor stated the average salary in Asia is around USD12,883 per year, or RM61,026.77. Although there are variations in salary levels across Southeast Asian countries, the region as a whole offers many opportunities for its residents to achieve a high standard of living.

According to reports, the average salary for entry-level positions in Thailand is about 20,000 to 25,000 baht (approximately RM2,577 to 3,221), while mid-career professionals range from 50,000 to 100,000 baht (approximately RM6,443 to 12,888).

The current average income in Brunei is 3,230 Brunei Dollars (approximately RM11,309).

Among other Southeast Asian countries, the average salaries in the Philippines (USD800.12), Indonesia (USD760) and Vietnam (USD713) ranked higher as against East Timor (USD150 to 250), Cambodia (USD150 to 200), Myanmar (USD148) and Laos (USD100 to USD135).
