Earlier today, around 1:30 AM Malaysia time, the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics took place along the Seine River in France. This year, the ceremony was different from previous ones, which were usually held in stadiums with grand light shows. Instead, the Paris Olympics showcased a unique parade of contingents from various countries on boats along the river.
However, many local sports fans were left disappointed because the Malaysian contingent was only briefly shown during the live broadcast. The camera quickly moved to other countries’ representatives after a short appearance by the Malaysians.
