Former Opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin officially launched a new political party, Parti Wawasan Negara on June 13.
Hamzah said the party name was suggested by PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang and the new party will hold its inaugural annual general assembly next week.
However, he did not confirm whether the party is newly registered or a rebrand of an existing political entity.
Nevertheless, Hamzah indicated that the party would cooperate with PAS, Gerakan and other parties, signalling potential alignment with Perikatan Nasional.
The announcement comes months after Hamzah was sacked from Bersatu following an internal leadership dispute with party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
