MDEC’s DEX Connex Returns With RM200 Million In Tech Deals At Techsauce Summit

The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) proudly announces the return of the DEX Connex Thailand 2024 programme, in conjunction with the prestigious Techsauce Global Summit 2024. Committed to supporting Malaysian tech companies in expanding their international presence and fostering bilateral collaborations, MDEC has brought 51 Malaysian tech companies to participate in this programme.

The programme’s key highlights include the exchange of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and Memorandums of Agreement (MoAs) between Malaysian and Thai counterparts. These documents aim to explore potential areas of cooperation such as joint ventures, technology transfers, and market access. By leveraging each other’s strengths and expertise, these partnerships seek to drive innovation, enhance competitiveness, and create new opportunities for growth in the digital sphere.

The companies involved in the MoU and MoA exchanges include:

  1. CapBay (Malaysia) and Sleek EV (Thailand): To promote sustainable mobility solutions through dealer financing.
  2. CapBay (Malaysia) and AccRevo (Thailand): To provide integrated financial solutions for SMEs.
  3. Tala Records (Malaysia) and The Nimit Studio (Thailand): To focus on ASEAN cultural content creation.
  4. Intelligence Traceability (Malaysia) and S.M.S Solutions (Thailand): To enhance traceability in the food and pharmaceuticals industry.
  5. EasyStore Commerce (Malaysia) and Lalamove (Thailand): To improve delivery efficiency for SMEs.
  6. EasyStore Commerce (Malaysia) and Sunmi Technology (Thailand): To enhance payment processing for SMEs.
  7. CTH Commerce (Malaysia) and T.R. SIAMPUN (Thailand): To integrate PayRecon’s solutions with TRCloud’s Accounting Solution to support Thai SMEs.
  8. MODELLO Search (Malaysia) and GoFluence Thailand (Thailand): To expand operations in Thailand.
  9. Dattel Asia Group (Malaysia) and DEPA (Thailand): To support SMEs with digital marketing and AI solutions.
  10. ReSkills EdTech (Malaysia) and THE ATTA CO., LTD. (Thailand): To expand ReSkills’ subscriber base in Thailand through engagement with corporations, universities, and lifelong learners.

These partnerships have resulted in more than RM200 million worth of engagements, underscoring the programme’s role in promoting Malaysian technology and innovation on the global stage. Reflecting on previous achievements, the DEX Connex in Thailand, the Philippines, and Indonesia has seen over 100 companies participate, generating more than RM400 million in potential opportunities for Malaysian tech companies in these markets.

Following the previous MoU signing between MDEC and the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA), this year’s second edition of DEX Connex enhances executive cooperation and promotes innovative collaborations. RICOH Thailand, which signed a MoA at last year’s programme, will officially launch DocKITA® services in the Thai market this August. Ashisuto Global Technologies Sdn. Bhd. will offer DocKITA® services through RICOH’s digital marketing channels and Thailand’s sales team.

The DEX Connex Thailand 2024 programme was a collaborative effort with key partners, including the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) Thailand, the Embassy of Malaysia in Thailand, DEPA Thailand, True Digital Park, Diplomatic Council, Malaysia-Thai Chamber of Commerce (MTCC), GEN Thailand, and Techsauce.
