Bursa Malaysia experienced fluctuations within a narrow range today. After initially falling to 1,643.44 shortly after the opening, the market rebounded, driven by Petronas Chemicals Group Berhad and MISC, reaching a peak of 1,652.02 before retreating again before the market closed.
As the market closed at 12:30pm, the Composite Index settled at 1,648.93 points, reflecting a slight increase of 0.02 points or 0.001%. The half-day trading volume reached 1,545,354,900 shares, with a transaction value of RM1.055 billion. Meanwhile, the FBM Bursa Malaysia All-Share Index closed at 12,344.58 points, up 22.67 points.
In terms of market performance, 536 stocks advanced, 357 declined, while 465 stocks remained unchanged. Additionally, 1,054 stocks were not traded. The ringgit also showed slight weakness, trading at 4.1680 against the US dollar as of 12:30pm.
