Fajarbaru Bags Batu Kawan Medical Hub Development Project

Fajarbaru Builder Group Bhd announced that it has accepted a Letter of Offer from Penang Development Corporation for the proposed development of Medi-City in Batu Kawan, covering approximately 235.8 acres.

The development project irr said will be divided into two parcels with Fajarbaru set to purchase Parcel 1, which spans 51.17 acres, in 2025. Within the first parcel, 15.3 acres have been designated for the development of healthcare-related components, including a 200-bed hospital and various healthcare and medical facilities. The remaining 35.8 acres is planned for mixed-use development, featuring residential and commercial components.

As part of the Medi-City master plan which encompasses 235.8 acres, the Group said it intends to deliver a complete ecosystem of healthcare and medical facilities through the development of a medical hub, offering wide range of healthcare solutions such as preventive care, rehabilitation, diagnostic, treatment and wellness services.

In addition to that, Fajarbaru will be developing a wellness village, medical education hub, hybrid health-tech park as well as a waterfront commercial centre, Fajarbaru Global Park and seaview residence. In line with the government’s agenda to promote sustainable development, Medi-City Bandar Cassia will feature an integrated district cooling system, green buildings, renewable energy sources and EV charging hubs. The development will foster a smart, environmentally conscious community that embodies the principles of ESG and sustainability.
