Oriental Melaka Straits Medical Centre (OMSMC) has launched its new state-of-the-art Cath Lab 2, featuring Biplane Angiography technology (Philips Azurion 7), and introduced PRECISE Pharmagenomics (PGx) services, marking a major step forward in cardiac care and personalised medicine.
The Cath Lab 2 offers high-resolution imaging, reduced radiation exposure, and faster procedure times, particularly benefiting paediatric cardiac cases by enabling precise visualisation of intricate heart structures.
“The launch of Cath Lab 2 reinforces OMSMC’s dedication to pioneering advanced cardiac care in Malaysia. By investing in cutting-edge medical technology, we are committed to delivering world-class healthcare solutions that improve patient outcomes and transform lives,” said Lee Soon Teck, CEO of OMSMC.
OMSMC has also partnered with Global Precision Diagnostics (GPD) to introduce PRECISE Pharmagenomics (PGx) services, Malaysia’s first clinically recommended genome-wide pharmacogenomics service. Recognised by the Malaysian Book of Records 2023, PGx analyses over 1,000 genes and covers 500+ commonly prescribed medications, allowing healthcare professionals to personalise treatments based on a patient’s genetic profile.
OMSMC has received The BrandLaureate World’s Best Brand of the Year Award 2024 for Excellence in Multidisciplinary Healthcare and Medical Tourism Solutions, recognising its commitment to high-quality healthcare services.
The hospital has also become the first in Melaka to join the Global Green and Healthy Hospitals (GGHH) network, emphasising its dedication to sustainability initiatives such as solar energy, sustainable cooling, and waste management.
These advancements were unveiled during OMSMC’s corporate gala dinner at Dusit Princess Melaka, attended by 300 guests, including business partners, general practitioners, industry associations, and local authorities.
