Malaysia Airlines is deepening its digital transformation by expanding its partnership with Google to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) across its marketing and travel ecosystem, in a move aligned with the government’s Visit Malaysia Year 2026 initiative.
Under a newly formalised Joint Business Plan, the airline will adopt Google’s advanced tools such as Performance Max, AI-enhanced Search and Gemini to enhance personalisation, streamline operations and deliver a more intuitive travel experience.
Key areas of focus include AI-powered marketing, global brand-building via YouTube and activating first-party data to deepen customer insights and boost loyalty programmes such as Enrich.
The airline and Google also piloted Google Veo — an image-to-video generation tool — at the recent MATTA Fair, giving travellers the ability to create dynamic videos from personal photos.
“This is about transforming how we connect with our customers — from inspiration to booking, to every interaction across the journey,” said Malaysia Aviation Group Chief Commercial Officer Dersenish Aresandiran.
Google Malaysia Country Director Farhan Qureshi added, “Our collaboration with Malaysia Airlines showcases how technology and creativity can converge to transform travel at scale.”
The initiative reinforces Malaysia Airlines’ role in positioning the country as a regional aviation and tourism hub.
