TH Plantations Berhad (“THP”) has announced the termination of the contract of its Chief Executive Officer, Mohamed Zainurin bin Mohamed Zain, effective today.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company said a formal letter of termination was issued on 26 August 2025.
Mohamed Zainurin Mohamed Zain, was placed on garden leave following the issuance of a show cause letter pertaining to alleged unauthorised payments totaling RM5.1 million made to plantation workers.
The Chief Financial Officer, Marilyana Omar, who also received a show cause letter tendered her resignation at that time.
Mohamed Zainurin was appointed CEO of TH Plantations on October 1, 2021 and brought over 33 years of experience in various industries, including integrated agrifood plantations and halal food supply chain
He who took on the CEO role in 2022, was tasked with steering the plantation group through industry headwinds, including fluctuating crude palm oil (CPO) prices and rising sustainability and compliance requirements.
TH Plantations, the plantation arm of Lembaga Tabung Haji, has been undergoing a business rationalisation programme in recent years, which included asset disposals and cost-optimisation measures to strengthen its financial position.
The company did not announce an immediate successor and said further updates will be made in due course.
