Bulls Rally Around Consumer Staples As Tech And Telecom Dip

On Bursa Malaysia, consumer and plantation-linked stocks dominated the top gainers’ list, with Nestlé rising RM1.62 to RM94.12 and PETDAG adding RM0.68 to RM22.68. F&N, PPB, and SIME also featured among the best performers, posting gains of between 0.28 and 0.62 per cent.

Conversely, Panamy led the day’s decliners, shedding RM0.47 to RM9.42, while HEIM, RVIEW, PCHEM, and TM rounded out the top losers. Despite these setbacks, the number of advancing counters outweighed decliners, supporting the slight upward momentum in the broader market.

The activity highlighted selective buying interest in staple and industrial sectors, while technology and energy-linked stocks faced muted demand, reflecting cautious investor sentiment ahead of key economic updates.
