Malaysia’s Advanced Accumulators has launched Southeast Asia’s first Battery Subscription Program, aiming to transform fleet efficiency and energy management across the region. The programme offers commercial vehicle operators guaranteed battery uptime, connected power and safety features that surpass traditional batteries.
Advanced Accumulators, a joint venture between battery technologist VXI Crest and Malaysian battery distributors YSK Marketing and FJ Union, integrates IoT-enabled smart starter batteries with live updates, remote functions and borderless connectivity. The batteries utilise Lithium Ferrous Phosphate technology, storing 200 to 400% more energy than lead-acid batteries while weighing less than half as much.
Operators are assured 100% battery uptime at standard ownership costs, removing concerns over premature battery failure. The subscription model also addresses sustainability challenges associated with early disposal of lead-acid batteries. Businesses can monitor fleet health, battery status, maintenance schedules and route analysis through the VxI Connect dashboard and mobile app, reducing fuel consumption and reliance on roadside assistance.
Advanced Accumulators expects the programme to serve over 10 million commercial vehicles across Southeast Asia, supporting cross-border operations with GPS-enabled features that meet regional compliance requirements. Strategic regional partnerships, including PT PolarG in Indonesia and United Motor Works Siam in Thailand, will further expand the service, targeting 60,000 connected vehicles annually.
The company highlights that global fleet management technology is projected to reach US$30 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 12% from 2023, driven by digitalisation in the mobility and transportation sectors. Advanced Accumulators positions itself as a regional leader in connected battery solutions, providing fleets with predictive insights, energy optimisation and enhanced operational efficiency.
