Samaiden Lands RM290 Million Solar EPCC Contract In Perak

Samaiden Group Berhad announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Samaiden Sdn Bhd (SSB), has accepted a Letter of Award (LOA) worth RM290 million from Unique HEB Energy Sdn Bhd (UHESB) for the development of a 95MWac large-scale solar photovoltaic (LSSPV) plant in Hilir Perak, Perak Darul Ridzuan.

The project, approved by the Energy Commission in December 2024 under the LSS5 programme, will see Samaiden undertake engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) works for the plant. The scope includes design, engineering, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning of the facility.

The works officially commenced on 28 August 2025 following the signing of the LOA. UHESB and Samaiden are expected to finalise the EPCC contract, comprising a Supply Agreement and a Construction Agreement, within 60 days or such extended period as mutually agreed.

Samaiden said the contract is expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings during the project duration. The company does not foresee any material risks from the LOA beyond operational factors such as completion risk and shortage of skilled labour, for which mitigation measures are in place.

UHESB, the project owner, is principally involved in electrical installation, energy generation, as well as the operation, transmission, distribution and sale of electricity.

The Hilir Perak solar plant is part of Malaysia’s broader push to expand renewable energy capacity through the LSS5 initiative, which aims to strengthen the country’s clean energy transition.
