Visional Pop, an entertainment company specialising in building creator-led IP into global franchises, has partnered with Kuala Lumpur–based Niko Studio to introduce the animated character Bichi Mao to North American audiences. The collaboration marks the character’s first major international expansion.
Already a household name in Malaysia and Southeast Asia, Bichi Mao has become a pop culture phenomenon, thanks to high-profile collaborations in 2025 with national restaurant chains and fashion and beauty lines. The character’s growing fanbase now sets the stage for a global debut.
Under the partnership, Visional Pop will drive market entry, franchise development, and consumer engagement in North America, including a dedicated content strategy and a new line of region-specific consumer products.
“Niko Studio has created a character with incredible charm and cultural resonance in Bichi Mao,” said Benjamin Grubbs, Director of Visional Pop. “We see tremendous opportunity to introduce this unique IP to North America and grow a passionate new fan community.”
Co-founder of Niko Studio, Wee Lim, added, “Their deep expertise in developing creator-led IP and understanding international markets makes them the perfect partner. Bringing Bichi Mao to a global audience has always been our dream, and this partnership brings us one step closer to making that dream a reality.”
