HOYA Malaysia is stepping up its mission to protect children’s eyesight with the return of its “A Million Visions” campaign, which will offer free eye examinations for children aged five to 12 nationwide in conjunction with World Sight Day 2025.
Running from Oct 16 to 22, 2025, the initiative will be held at over 800 participating Eye Care Professional Optical Stores nationwide.
It aims to raise awareness on the importance of early detection in preventing myopia, a condition that has become increasingly prevalent among Malaysia’s younger generation.
“Too many children are missing out on early eye care due to awareness, access and cost. As a leader in vision care, we felt a responsibility to act,” Malaysian Hoya Lens Sdn Bhd Managing Director Lew Chee Quin said, while emphasising that this isn’t just a one-off initiative, it’s a long-term commitment to reshape how communities think about eye health for the children.
As part of its ongoing commitment to childhood myopia management, HOYA will highlight its MiYOSMART spectacle lenses, developed with Defocus Incorporated Multiple Segments Technology. Backed by global clinical research, MiYOSMART lenses provide clear vision while slowing the progression of myopia in children.
To make these solutions more accessible, HOYA has also introduced the MiYOSMART Early Control Subsidy, offering families an instant RM350 subsidy on myopia control lenses.
By combining nationwide screenings, affordable lens solutions and innovative technologies, Lew highlighted that HOYA Malaysia aims to help families take proactive steps in protecting children’s eyesight and supporting healthy visual development.
