Unsubsidised RON95 Fixed At RM2.60, MOF

The government has set the unsubsidised retail price of RON95 petrol at RM2.60 per litre starting September 30 2025, following the implementation of the Budi MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) programme.

Under BUDI95, Malaysian citizens are eligible to purchase RON95 petrol at RM1.99 per litre, reflecting a subsidy of RM0.61 per litre. With a monthly quota of 300 litres, this translates to a potential subsidy benefit of up to RM183 per individual.

For the period between September 30 and October 8 2025, the weekly retail prices of petroleum products under the Automatic Pricing Mechanism have been fixed as follows: RON97 remains at RM3.21 per litre, subsidised RON95 for citizens at RM1.99, unsubsidised RON95 at RM2.60, RON95 for public and goods transport under the Subsidised Petrol Control System (SKPS) at RM2.05, diesel in Peninsular Malaysia at RM2.93, and diesel in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan at RM2.15.

The Ministry of Finance said the government would continue to monitor global crude oil price movements and make adjustments when necessary to safeguard public welfare.

Arrangements are being finalised for e-hailing drivers to qualify for additional subsidised fuel allocations, with the ministry working alongside APAD and service operators. The government is also considering extending subsidies to boat operators, particularly in Sabah and Sarawak, with data collection now underway to ensure eligible groups are not excluded.
