Pekat Clinches EPC Contract For 63MW Solar Project In Johor

Pekat Group Berhad has announced that its indirect wholly-owned subsidiary, Pekat Solar Sdn. Bhd., has signed an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for the development of a 63MWac large-scale solar photovoltaic (LSSPV) facility in Kulai, Johor.

The contract, executed on 2 October 2025, covers the design, engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning of the solar energy plant.

Pekat said the project will be undertaken in collaboration with a Malaysia-incorporated private company acting as the main contractor, which is principally involved in civil engineering works, construction, property development, and real estate investment. However, the company noted that it is unable to disclose the contractor’s identity due to confidentiality provisions in the agreement.

The new facility is expected to contribute significantly to Malaysia’s renewable energy capacity and underscores Pekat’s role in supporting the national transition towards sustainable power generation.
