Parliament Approves 2026 Budget With RM470 Billion Allocation

The Dewan Rakyat today approved the Supply Bill (Budget) 2026 following its presentation by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on October 10.

Yang Dipertua Dewan Rakyat, Tan Sri Johari Abdul, announced the passage of the bill after the third reading was conducted by Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan. The bill secured majority support from Members of Parliament through a voice vote.

Budget 2026 marks the fourth budget under the MADANI Government and is the first to be implemented under the framework of the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK-13). Branded under the theme “People’s Budget,” it outlines total public expenditure of RM470 billion, comprising RM338.2 billion for operating expenditure and RM81 billion for development expenditure.

The allocation also includes RM30 billion for government-linked company investments, RM10 billion for public-private partnerships, and RM10.8 billion for federal statutory bodies and companies under the Minister of Finance Incorporated.
