Global provider of critical digital infrastructure solutions, Vertiv, has announced plans to expand its manufacturing footprint in Asia with a new facility in Johor, Malaysia.
The plant, set to be fully operational in the first quarter of 2026, will produce power and thermal management solutions, including coolant distribution units, as well as modular and prefabricated data centre deployments.
The expansion is driven by rising demand for artificial intelligence (AI)-ready, high-density computing infrastructure across the region.
Strategically located near Singapore with robust logistics and utilities, Vertiv said the Johor facility will enhance production capacity, reduce delivery times and support next-generation technologies like AI and machine learning.
“This new facility represents a major milestone in Vertiv’s global manufacturing network, giving us the scale, flexibility and proximity to meet customer needs quickly and reliably,” Vertiv Asia Operations Vice President Andrew Whall said.
Whall highlighted that the project is expected to create up to 500 skilled local jobs over the next three years and will incorporate modern automation technologies to ensure efficient, high-quality and environmentally responsible production.
He emphasised that Vertiv’s investment underscores its commitment to regional growth, manufacturing excellence and Malaysia’s broader economic ambitions.
