Binastra Corporation Berhad has secured RM171.7 million worth of Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC) contracts for the development of Large Scale Solar 5 (LSS5) power plants, strengthening its position in Malaysia’s renewable energy sector.
The group said its 51%-owned indirect subsidiary, Binastra Atlantic Sdn Bhd, accepted three letters of award from Maya Jaya Sdn Bhd on 15 December 2025. The projects span three solar facilities across Selangor and Kedah.
The contracts will commence immediately and are targeted to achieve commercial operation by 26 June 2027.
The largest contract, valued at RM93.27 million, involves the development of a 29.99MWac solar facility in Kuala Langat, Selangor, including a 33kV solar power plant interconnection facility (SPPIF), a switchgear extension at PMU 132kV Banting, and underground cabling works.
The second project, worth RM28.54 million, covers a 10.00MWac solar plant in Kuala Muda, Kedah, together with related interconnection infrastructure at PMU 132kV Aman Jaya.
The third contract, valued at RM49.91 million, entails the construction of a 16.55MWac solar facility, including a switchgear extension at PMU 132kV Taman Intan, also in Kuala Muda, Kedah.
Collectively, the projects will deliver more than 56MWac of installed solar capacity, supporting Malaysia’s national energy transition and renewable energy targets under the LSS5 programme.
