Asia Automotive Award Goes Regional With Bangkok Edition

The Asia Automotive Award (AAA) held its fifth edition in Bangkok, marking the first time the prestigious awards moved outside Malaysia and underscoring its growing role in fostering cross-border collaboration in Asia’s automotive and mobility industry.

Themed “Driving the Future of Asia Automotive Business Together”, the black-tie gala, organised by AsiaAuto Venture Sdn Bhd and hosted by Grand Prix International, brought together leaders from 12 countries, including Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, South Korea, China, Vietnam and Indonesia.

This year’s edition received a record 250 submissions, with 150 progressing to the final stage, making it the most competitive yet. A highlight was the Automotive Lifetime Achievement Award presented to Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad for his role in Malaysia’s national automotive industry and Dr Prachin Eamlumnow for his contributions to Thailand’s automotive media and exhibitions.

Dr Por Boon Kuan, chairman of the Thailand chapter, said the regional expansion reflects the need for a unified Asian automotive platform that enhances international exposure and collaboration.

The event’s main sponsor, CNC Innovations Sdn Bhd, highlighted the importance of technology partnerships in driving the industry forward.

Following its first regional edition, AAA is expected to rotate across Asia in future, further strengthening its role as a platform for regional industry collaboration.
