Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj’s legacy as the architect of Malaysia’s nationhood is being spotlighted in a special public exhibition now open at Muzium Negara from Feb 1 to March 29.
Titled “Tunku Negarawan Ulung: Founder of the Nation-State”, the showcase aims to strengthen public understanding of the country’s formative history and the foundations of national unity.
The National Unity Ministry said the exhibition, organised by the National Archives, highlights Tunku Abdul Rahman’s pivotal role in building the nation on principles of tolerance, justice, consensus and inter-racial cooperation.
National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang said appreciation of past statesmen’s contributions is crucial in shaping civilisation and guiding future nation-building efforts.
He stressed that younger Malaysians in particular should study and internalise the leadership values, wisdom and unity championed by Tunku Abdul Rahman to ensure continued national harmony.
According to the ministry, Tunku’s leadership not only secured independence but also shaped the country’s administrative and social development framework within a diverse, multi-ethnic society.
Open daily from 9am to 5pm, the exhibition features archival materials and historical documents, serving as a public education platform to cultivate patriotism, especially among youths and stuedents.
