Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) can now submit applications for 2026 programmes under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) administered by SME Corp Malaysia, the agency under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP).
The announcement was made during the Open Day@Hab PMKS on Jan 29, 2026, at SME Corp Malaysia, Platinum Sentral, where Rizal Dato’ Nainy, Chief Executive Officer of SME Corp Malaysia, shared details of the programmes with MSMEs and representatives from business associations and chambers.
“RM117 million has been allocated for SME Corp Malaysia to implement eight programmes for MSMEs covering high-growth and inclusive aspects,” said Rizal.
He added, “Scaling up MSMEs is a key agenda of the Government to boost economic growth and develop a more resilient and competitive MSME ecosystem. The goal is to increase the proportion of medium-sized firms from 1.6% to 5% by 2030, which is expected to raise the contribution of MSMEs to GDP to RM1 trillion.”
The 13MP (2026–2030) agenda focuses on the scale-up of MSMEs, aiming to upgrade micro enterprises to small and eventually medium-sized enterprises.
The programmes cover growth, inclusivity and capacity-building initiatives to enhance the competitiveness of local businesses.
The Open Day@Hab PMKS is an ongoing initiative by SME Corp Malaysia to serve as the primary reference centre for MSME information and advisory services.
Since its launch in January 2024, it has benefited more than 100 MSMEs each month through strategic collaborations with various ministries, government agencies and private sector partners.
Among those attending the January 2026 session were Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Bernard Giluk Dompok, Chairman of SME Corp. Malaysia; Rizal Dato’ Nainy, CEO of SME Corp Malaysia; Datuk William Ng, President of the Small and Medium Enterprises Association of Malaysia Mohd Azamanizam Baharon, President of the Malay Traders and Entrepreneurs Association (PERDASAMA); and representatives from the Malay Business Chamber (DPMM), Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM), hawkers’ and small traders’ associations and the Women Bumiputera Entrepreneurs Association (Peniagawati).
