Lynas Malaysia Secures 10-Year License Renewal

Lynas Malaysia has been granted a 10-year renewal of its operating licence, effective March 3, the company announced.

Lynas Rare Earths Ltd said it received a letter from the Malaysian Department of Atomic Energy confirming the extension, with the formal licence set to be issued in due course.

Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Amanda Lacaze welcomed the decision, noting that the longer licence term provides greater investment certainty for Lynas, its supply chain partners, and customers in the rare earths sector.

“On behalf of all Lynas employees, we thank the Malaysian government for its attention to this matter and its support for the rare earths industry in Malaysia,” Lacaze said, underscoring the company’s commitment to sustainable operations in the country.

The licence renewal is seen as a positive signal for Malaysia’s rare earths industry, offering stability for ongoing investments and long-term planning in a critical sector supporting technology and renewable energy supply chains globally.
