Regional clean energy solutions provider Solarvest Holdings Bhd has secured an RM89.5 million engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contract for a 36MWac solar project under Malaysia’s Fifth Large Scale Solar programme (LSS5+), marking a fresh boost to its expanding orderbook.
The contract, awarded by Jubli Pasifik Sdn Bhd, appoints Solarvest as the turnkey EPCC partner for the utility-scale solar farm located in Kangar, Perlis.
Designed to maximise energy yield, the project will deploy high-efficiency Tier One N-Type photovoltaic modules alongside advanced inverter technologies, supported by engineering optimisation tailored to Malaysia’s tropical climate.
Construction will be carried out by Solarvest’s certified installation team under strict quality and safety standards.
Scheduled for commercial operation by Feb 26, 2028, the plant is expected to generate approximately 68,550 MWh of clean energy annually, offsetting about 53,058 tonnes of carbon emissions each year, supporting Malaysia’s broader decarbonisation goals.
Post-completion, the facility will be equipped with artificial intelligence (AI)-powered monitoring and digital analytics systems, enabling real-time performance tracking, predictive maintenance and enhanced operational reliability over its projected 20 to 25-year lifespan.
Solarvest Group CEO Davis Chong Chun Shiong said the project underscores the growing importance of technology-driven renewable infrastructure in Southeast Asia’s energy transition, with future opportunities in battery storage, AI optimisation and next-generation energy management systems.
The latest win lifts Solarvest’s orderbook to RM1.6 billion, reinforcing its growth momentum as it continues to scale Malaysia’s renewable energy landscape.
