Internationally acclaimed Malaysian pianist Vincent Ong has returned home to share his global expertise through Talent Corporation Malaysia Bhd’s MyHeart initiative, a programme aimed at inspiring young talent and strengthening Malaysia’s national talent ecosystem.
Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri Ramanan Ramakrishnan said the initiative highlights the government’s commitment to engaging Malaysians abroad and creating pathways for them to contribute to national talent development.
Based in Berlin, the 25-year-old Ong has achieved international recognition, winning the Gold Medal at the 2024 International Robert Schumann Competition and becoming the first Malaysian finalist and medal winner at the 2025 International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition.
His homecoming programme features solo recitals and masterclasses across Kuala Lumpur and Penang, with over 2,200 attendees expected.
The minister emphasised that the initiative enables Malaysians abroad to share expertise, mentor local talent and collaborate across sectors.
Edward Ling, TalentCorp Group CEO, noted that such engagements strengthen Malaysia’s talent ecosystem and promote knowledge exchange from global best practices.
Ong, meanwhile, said the homecoming is an opportunity to share both his music and international experience with young Malaysian musicians, hoping to inspire them to pursue their passions confidently.
