Dyson has introduced a travel-friendly version of its iconic hair dryer, and it is not just a scaled-down gadget. The Dyson Supersonic Travel hair dryer has been engineered specifically for life on the move, offering the same high-performance styling the brand is known for in a noticeably smaller package.
At 32% smaller and 25% lighter than the original Dyson Supersonic hair dryer, it is designed to slip easily into cabin luggage or a handbag, making it a practical option for frequent travellers who still want polished results.
Despite the smaller size, Dyson hasn’t scaled back the engineering. The dryer still delivers high-velocity airflow for fast, even drying, while intelligent heat control measures air temperature 100 times per second. In practical terms, that means it avoids the kind of extreme heat that can leave hair feeling dry or brittle, especially when you’re already dealing with changing climates, cabin air, or humidity on the move.
Another key detail is global usability. The Supersonic Travel automatically adjusts to different voltage standards around the world, so you don’t need to worry about compatibility when travelling internationally. It also stands out for being compatible with attachments from existing Dyson tools, including the Dyson Supersonic Nural hair dryer, which means users can stick with the styling accessories they already know.
Dyson says this launch builds on years of work in hair science, first established with the original Supersonic in 2016. The focus has consistently been on reducing heat damage by prioritising controlled airflow, rather than relying on high temperatures. That same thinking carries through here, just in a more travel-ready format.
Whether it’s a quick gym session, a weekend break, or a long-haul trip, the aim is to keep styling consistent without adding bulk to your luggage.
The Dyson Supersonic Travel is expected to arrive in Malaysia soon, with more details to be shared through the brand’s official channels.
