ZICO Trust (M) Bhd has appointed former Deputy Inspector General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Dr Mazlan Lazim as chairman of its board, effective Aug 14, 2026, as the company strengthens its governance and institutional oversight.
Mazlan brings more than four decades of leadership experience from the Royal Malaysia Police, where his career culminated in his appointment as Deputy IGP in June 2021.
During his public service career, he also served as Kuala Lumpur and Kelantan police chief, director of the Bukit Aman Logistics and Technology Department and director-general of the Witness Protection Department under the Prime Minister’s Department.
Following his retirement from the police force, Mazlan expanded into the corporate sector and currently serves as independent non-executive chairman of Computer Forms (Malaysia) Bhd and chairman of PBLT Sdn Bhd. He is also deputy chairman of Rapid Synergy Bhd.
ZICO Trust said the appointment forms part of its continued effort to strengthen board stewardship and institutional oversight as it develops its bespoke trust and fiduciary services business.
Managing Director Jeevan M Sundaram said Mazlan’s experience across public institutions and corporate boards would bring an important perspective to the company as it strengthens its governance and long-term institutional foundations.
Meanwhile, Mazlan said he looked forward to working with the board and management to strengthen ZICO Trust’s institutional foundations and support its sustainable long-term development.
