Mother’s Day is one of those dates where dining out tends to book up fast, and this year, Aloft Langkawi Pantai Tengah is leaning into it with a one-night buffet built around sharing time at the table rather than a formal fine-dining setup.
On May 9, 2026, Nook will host a Mother’s Day Tomahawk Buffet Dinner, priced at RM168 per adult, RM118 for senior citizens and RM84 per child.
This event is Langkawi’s first Tomahawk buffet, with a charcoal-grilled Tomahawk carved as the centrepiece of the spread. Around it, the menu features a mix of Western and Asian dishes, including smoked beef brisket, beef shawarma, Japanese oysters, squid ink linguine, aglio olio, Nyonya curry laksa and seafood pesto pizza.
It’s a broad selection aimed at mixed groups, so there’s something for both heavier appetites and lighter eaters at the same table.
Dessert is getting a stronger focus than usual with the introduction of Chef Adha Shahrulnizam, who has more than 12 years of experience across hotels and restaurants in Malaysia’s premium dining scene. His background includes chocolate work, sugar craft and bespoke cakes, with past commissions for high-profile royal and state occasions.
For this dinner, he’s putting together a dessert selection that keeps things familiar but elevated. Expect French pastries, whole cakes, New York cheesecake and raspberry chocolate cake as the closing course, rather than a simple buffet sweet station.
There are also a few built-in incentives for the night. One mother dines free with every five paying adults, which pushes it towards larger family gatherings. The first 15 bookings also receive a complimentary bottle of DOM Bénédictine with a teapot set, while all mothers dining will be served a pass-around cocktail or a non-alcoholic mocktail featuring the same liqueur.
For families with younger children, the hotel is running a “Pizza of Love” activity at its Kids Club on May 9 and 10. Children can make heart-shaped pizzas as a small personalised gift for Mother’s Day, with advance booking required the day before.
