Hermès Le Petit Sac Brings A Practical Update To Luxury Bags

A new everyday bag from Hermès is drawing attention for its focus on simplicity over statement. The Le Petit Sac is one of the house’s latest silhouettes, built around a slim, curved shape with a single shoulder strap and understated H-style buckles. It’s a clean design that leans practical, but still carries the brand’s signature precision.

The proportions are compact but considered. At 20 cm by 11.5 cm, it fits the essentials — phone, cardholder, lipstick — without feeling cramped. It sits close to the body, making it easy to wear with everything from lighter daytime pieces to heavier outerwear. A top-zip closure keeps things secure, with no extra hardware or detailing to distract from the shape.

Where it gets more interesting is in the leather. Mysore goatskin has a drier, more textured feel at first, which gives it a bit more grip and substance compared to smoother finishes. It softens over time and develops a slight sheen, so it looks better the more you use it.

Box calfskin offers a different take. It’s been part of Hermès’ line-up since the 1920s and has a smoother, glossier surface with a refined grain. With wear, it develops a patina that changes the bag’s look over time, making each piece slightly different.

That choice of leather also sets the price. Mysore goatskin versions are priced at SGD8,800 and come in shades like Caramel. Box calfskin starts at SGD12,200, with classic colours including Noir and Rouge H this season.
