PMW Secures Sabah Contract Renewal To Boost Earnings Visibility

PMW International Berhad has secured a renewal of its concrete poles supply agreement in Sabah, strengthening earnings visibility amid ongoing telecommunications infrastructure expansion in the state.

In a statement, the group said its wholly owned unit, PMW Winabumi Sdn Bhd, renewed the agreement with CTS Horizon Sdn Bhd on April 30.

The renewal extends a partnership dating back to 2017, under which PMW supplies pre-stressed spun concrete poles for telecommunications projects across Sabah.

The three-year contract, effective Dec 12, 2025, includes an option for a further two-year extension. Orders will be issued progressively via purchase orders, providing recurring demand visibility, with pricing subject to input cost adjustments.

CTS, a key fibre network provider in Sabah and Labuan, serves major telcos including CelcomDigi Berhad, Maxis Berhad, U Mobile and YTL Communications. It plans to invest RM316.3 million over the next three years, including rolling out 120,000 fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) premises.

Executive director and CEO Lee Hon Hwa said the renewal reflects continued confidence in the group’s capabilities and supports ongoing network expansion and maintenance in Sabah.

PMW said the contract will support projects including fibre network protection works involving about 800km of cable infrastructure, alongside expansion under the Jalinan Digital Negara (JENDELA) initiative and continued 5G rollout.

The group expects the agreement to contribute positively to earnings, supported by rising demand for telecommunications infrastructure driven by fibre expansion and 5G deployment.
