EcoFirst Consolidated Bhd and its wholly owned subsidiary EcoFirst Worldwide Sdn Bhd (EWSB) have been served with a writ of summons and statement of claim by Modern Peak Sdn Bhd, marking the commencement of a civil suit at the Kuala Lumpur High Court.
The company said the legal action, dated April 20, 2026, names EcoFirst, EWSB, HCK Estates Sdn Bhd and HCK Capital Group Berhad as defendants.
The plaintiff is seeking RM7.6 million in damages, along with interest of 8% per annum from April 1, 2026, until full settlement, as well as legal costs and any other relief deemed appropriate by the court.
Modern Peak alleges that EWSB breached provisions of a sale and purchase agreement dated October 15, 2020, by failing to deliver property units by the agreed completion date of April 1, 2026.
Additionally, EcoFirst is accused of breaching a corporate guarantee issued in December 2020 and a supplemental guarantee dated March 4, 2024. The plaintiff claims that despite a demand made on April 2, 2026, the company failed to settle the RM7.6 million sum.
EcoFirst said it has appointed legal counsel and intends to contest the claims to protect its interests.
