RM5 Billion SME Relief Facility Now Open For Applications, Funding Runs Until 2026

Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) can now apply for the RM5 billion SME Stabilisation Relief Facility under Bank Negara Malaysia, which opened for applications on May 15 and will run until Dec 31, 2026, or until the allocation is fully utilised.

Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Steven Sim said eligible MSMEs can access financing of up to RM750,000 at a capped interest or profit rate of 3.7% per annum, with funding channelled through 18 participating financial institutions.

He said the facility is designed to support businesses facing economic uncertainties, with participating banks urged to expedite approvals, disbursements and application processing through faster and more MSME-friendly procedures.

Sim added that financial institutions should adopt a more inclusive and practical assessment approach to ensure timely access to financing for affected businesses.

The RM5 billion SME SRF, together with an additional RM5 billion guarantee by Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Bhd, brings total MSME-related funding support this year to RM60 billion, up from RM50 billion previously announced under Budget 2026.
