Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today announced a RM100 book voucher for secondary school students under the Ministry of Education (MOE) and students at public higher education institutions (IPTAs).
He said the initiative will continue this year and can be used at the 2026 Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair (PBAKL), which runs for 10 days from today until June 7 at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL).
“The RM100 assistance that has been provided over the past few years is now channelled directly. So when you purchase books, you will enjoy the discount,” he said.
Anwar also reminded parents to ensure their children fully utilise the vouchers to buy beneficial reading materials instead of leaving them unused.
He said PBAKL should continue to be held to expose and nurture a reading culture among the younger generation, especially in the modern world.
