Dior Beauty has just dropped a new addition to its Backstage lineup, and it’s aimed squarely at one of the biggest makeup trends right now: glass-skin glow.
The launch, called the Glassy Glow Stick, arrives with a campaign fronted by Jisoo and Jenna Ortega, positioning it as an easy, on-the-go way to get that fresh, lit-from-within finish without a complicated routine. The product sits in Dior’s Backstage range, which is built around makeup artist techniques used behind the scenes at fashion shows. This one is all about speed and simplicity.
It’s a balm-style highlighter that melts into skin and catches light on the high points of the face, creating a soft, glossy sheen rather than obvious shimmer or glitter. The texture is designed to be applied straight from the stick and blended out with fingers, so it works in a matter of seconds.
According to Dior makeup’s creative director Peter Philips, the idea is to keep the finish versatile enough for cheeks, eyes and lips. It’s meant to look like skin, just more reflective and hydrated, rather than obviously made-up.
Skincare has also been built into the formula. The stick contains cherry oil and is designed to feel hydrating and smoothing on the skin, with a lightweight balm texture that doesn’t sit heavily on the surface. It’s also glitter-free, leaning instead into a pearly, light-reflecting finish.
There are eight shades in total, ranging from soft everyday tones like Glazed Pink to more playful options such as Glazed Mint with subtle blue shimmer. The finish is buildable, so you can keep it sheer for a subtle glow or layer it for a more noticeable sheen depending on how much impact you want.
The format is deliberately practical. It’s small enough to carry in a bag and designed for quick touch-ups throughout the day. The application is straightforward: swipe where light naturally hits the face, then tap to blend.
Dior also suggests pairing the Glow Stick with its Airflash Mist setting spray, which helps keep makeup in place while refreshing the skin during the day.
The Glassy Glow Stick is priced at US$44 and is available through Dior Beauty counters and the brand’s online store. It joins a wider Backstage refresh that also introduces new shades across Rosy Glow, Rosy Glow Stick and Lip Glow Butter, all leaning into softer, juicier colour for a more natural-looking finish.
