Thunderstorms Set To Drench Johor, East Malaysia Until 4pm

Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected to lash parts of Johor, Pahang, Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan until 4pm today, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

In Peninsular Malaysia, the warning covers Rompin in Pahang and the Johor districts of Kluang, Mersing and Kota Tinggi.

Across East Malaysia, the alert extends to several areas in Sarawak, including Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Mukah, Miri and Limbang.

In Sabah, affected areas include parts of the Interior, West Coast, Tawau and Sandakan divisions, while Labuan is also under the weather warning.

MetMalaysia said the advisory was issued following signs of thunderstorms capable of producing rainfall exceeding 20mm per hour and lasting more than an hour.
