Heavy Rain Forecast For Most Of Peninsula

A thunderstorm warning is in force across wide parts of Peninsular Malaysia and Sarawak as unstable weather continues to develop through the afternoon on June 14, 2026. The alert, issued at 12:25 pm, covers thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds expected to persist until 4 pm.

Large areas of Perak are affected, including Larut, Matang and Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim. In Pahang, the warning spans both highland and lowland districts, covering Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Jerantut, Bentong, Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin. Selangor is also under the alert, with Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat and Sepang listed.

The Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya are included, along with Negeri Sembilan’s Rembau and Tampin, the state of Melaka, and several districts in Johor: Tangkak, Muar, Batu Pahat, Mersing, Pontian, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru. In Sarawak, the warning covers Kuching, Serian, Samarahan and Betong, including Pusa and Betong.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MET Malaysia) advises those in affected areas to monitor conditions closely and avoid unnecessary travel while the system remains active.
