Vantris Energy Bhd returned to profitability in the first quarter ended April 30, 2026 (1Q27), posting a profit of RM145.8 million as the company continued to benefit from its financial restructuring and operational turnaround.
The oil and gas services provider, formerly known as Sapura Energy Bhd, reported a profit after tax and minority interests (PATAMI) of RM145.8 million for 1Q27 compared to a net loss of RM478 million in 1Q26. Revenue stood at RM645.2 million, a decrease of 19.5% from the RM801.4 million recorded in 1Q26.
Nevertheless, the results marked the company’s second consecutive profitable quarter since completing its restructuring exercise.
Vantris ended the quarter with cash, deposits and bank balances of RM1.96 billion, providing a strong liquidity position as it works towards exiting Practice Note 17 (PN17) status.
As at April 30, Vantris had a total order book of RM5.9 billion, with an additional RM2.9 billion under joint ventures and associates.
Its Group Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Zamri Jusoh said the latest performance reflected the positive impact of restructuring efforts and tighter operational discipline across the organisation.
Looking ahead, he shared that the company plans to focus on replenishing its order book, maintaining financial discipline and strengthening operational resilience while pursuing strategic partnerships and sustaining profitability amid a supportive upstream oil and gas market environment.
