Sunway Construction Secures RM664 Million Additional Work Order For Johor Project

Sunway Construction share trading was halted today, after the Group announced that it had secured additional works amounting to RM664.4 million for two substation projects in Johor, increasing the total contract value of the projects to RM865.6 million.

The group announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd, had on 17 June 2026 accepted the change orders to the Project Services Requests (PSRs) previously awarded on 21 April 2026 by a multinational technology corporation headquartered in the United States.

The projects involve the construction and completion of substations supporting two data centre developments in Johor.

Following the acceptance of the change orders, the aggregate lump sum contract value for the works has increased from the original amount to RM865.6 million, inclusive of withholding taxes, sales and service tax, as well as other applicable taxes.

The construction works commenced on 21 April 2026, with one of the substation projects scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2027, while the second project is expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2028.

SunCon said the projects are subject to normal construction-related risks, including potential fluctuations in material prices. However, these risks are expected to be mitigated by SCSB’s experience and expertise in managing large-scale construction projects.
